About this measure
Counts represent housing units authorized, not individual permit documents or completed homes. The total combines all four building-size categories without adding the reported subset twice.
Year-over-year change compares the selected year with the preceding year. Shares use all 78 municipios as the Puerto Rico denominator. A positive count after a zero prior-year count has undefined percentage change.
The supplied directory contains 2022–2025 annual files; a 2022 year-over-year comparison is unavailable.

July 2023 MSA membership is fixed across all years. The 12 municipios outside MSAs remain in Puerto Rico totals. Map geometry: 2024 Census cartographic boundaries.
